The Procedures for the annual monitoring of courses sets out the University’s approach to monitoring the quality and standards of undergraduate courses, postgraduate taught courses and postgraduate research programmes.
The University, through its departments, divisions and central committees, undertakes monitoring of courses through a range of processes rather than a single event. These processes include the annual cycle of consideration of:
• admissions statistics
• examiners’ and external examiners’ reports
• annual programme statistics
• student feedback and evaluation
• data on the destinations of graduates
The overall cycle of consideration is set in the Procedures and is also reflected in the Quality assurance calendar template and divisional quality assurance calendars which are below.
The Procedures are available below:

The guide also links to the key quality assurance activities undertaken through the academic year in departments and faculties.
The QA calendar for 2022-23 provides a template which each division and the Department for Continuing Education may adapt and augment to create their own Quality Assurance Calendars.
