Guidance for staff on student administration and support
Language Centre building closure
The Language Centre building (including the library) is currently closed to allow staff to work remotely. Plans for Trinity term and the summer will be announced soon on the Language Centre website.
The Language Centre offers teaching across 11 modern languages and Academic English - from intensive short courses to in-depth three-term programmes, and from daytime to evening to suit all schedules. Students can choose from a variety of modern languages including Arabic, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Modern Greek, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. If English isn’t their first language, Academic English courses can help improve academic writing and communication - building skills and increasing confidence.
Expert tutors use modern teaching methods and high-quality resources to teach in small groups. The Language Centre helps thousands of people of different ages and abilities to advance their languages and meet like-minded people each year.
Conveniently located in central Oxford, the Language Centre is a haven for anyone in the University who wants to join a community of language lovers, providing a space to share your language skills and exchange cultural experiences.
