This website is run by Oxford University. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

How accessible is this website?

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • Date picker buttons and some error messages are not read by screen readers.
  • On some pages zooming in will cause text spillage off the screen.
  • The graduate application form PDF is not accessible to a screen reader.

When zooming in on the page some content does not magnify with reflow (WCAG: 1.4.10)

Date picker buttons do not have a field label and are not read by screen reader (WCAG: 1.3.1 & 4.1.2)

The Graduate Application form PDF has not been structured so it’s accessible to a screen reader. (WCAG: 4.1.2)

Some error messages are not read by screen readers. (WCAG: 1.4.1 and 1.3.1)

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

We want our website to offer the best experience possible for all of our users. In addition to implementing fixes for the issues identified, we are working in several other ways:

  • we have asked AbilityNet to perform an accessibility audit of the graduate application form
  • we plan to train members of student systems in how make accessible content
  • we are revising our software development workflow to ensure that new functionality is designed, developed and tested with accessibility in mind
